Chronic Pelvic Pain

Chronic pain in the pelvis can be very disabling and traumatic to the patient. Seemingly endless visits to multiple doctors only result in more questions and more frustration. The reason for this is the complexity of this disorder. Pelvic pain can be caused by a wide array of disorders including adhesions after pelvic surgery, endometriosis, fibroids, interstitial cystitis, irritable bowel syndrome, pelvic congestion syndrome, myofascial pain syndrome, and nerve entrapment. Diagnosis is often difficult and sometimes impossible to make. Of course if a dignosis is made, the treatment can be very precise to that specific diagnosis. If a specific diagnosis cannot be made, focus shifts to pain control and symptom relief. Many effective options, holistic and traditional are available for treatment.
