Many patients suffering from headaches report that the pain starts from the neck or the back of the head. The pain travels forward to the top and front of the head. These headaches are called cervicogenic. Resting at the base of the skull are nerves called the Occipital Nerves. Via these nerves pain impulses can travel and cause headaches including migraines. Occipital nerve blocks are not for everyone but for selected patients they can be a valuable tool to break the cycle of headaches better than any oral medication. To find out if you can benefit from this treatment, call the Integrated Spine & Pain Center.
